Maybe this post will open some eyes. This hospital needs serious help. When did the nurses stop caring and doctors the same way?

The other thing is the waiting room is tiny and people were sitting on floors and the stairs when I left.

I called and made a formal complaint for a situation for myself months ago and was promised a call back within 2 weeks. I have not heard a thing back from them to this day.

Ive been here multiple times over the years. For myself and others... If it were me and i had... A choice i would take your loved ones to any hospital in Greensboro or Winston Salem. Randolph is basically like a hospital from the Andy Griffith show... With about 1950's level of ... Medicine. Read these other reviews... The truth is in the majority. In 2005 i was involved in a car accident at 2 pm in the afternoon it took 5 hours to get an xray. And after 6 hours i demanded some pain medicine. They are the bottom of the barrel in health care.

I took a loved one to Randolph Health two weeks ago. We waited in the waiting room until she passed out from her pain. I had to bang on the door and yell for help. Finally a worker came out and started pushing her in the chest and said it's ok she's still breathing. That's when we were taken to a cot in the hallway. Everyone passing by heard my loved ones information and had to watch her vomit as they walked by. Patrice was her nurse that night. I was threatened to have security called on me because I was concerned for my loved one and thought that her info needed to be confidential. That's when Patrice informed me that all hospitals have beds in the hall. There was a room open next door and I asked why she couldn't have that room. You can imagine sitting in the hallway sick and everyone watching you throw up in a bag. It's wrong. 45 minutes later my loved one get a shot to help with pain and then a room.

The wait was long an no one was here and my nurse was amazing Miss Laura she went above and beyond her duties to make sure I was good. Dr Taylor she was very nice, but the doc that took over was and smart Alec and the charge nurse KAREN SHE WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND HAD AN ATTITUDE. SAYING TO ME WHY DO YOU HAVE AN BRAIN INJURY AND A BUNCH OF OTHER QUESTION.

Attn: Staff and Patients

We had to (unfortunately) revisit the hospital again for the same reason. We were placed in the hallway again. This is where we stayed until she was finally admitted 6 hours later. No big deal that night as far as my loved one is concerned but I have a huge problem. There was a psychiatric patient across from us in a room. I heard the nurses making fun of her and making jokes because she was talking about Alkatraz. Remember now that we are speaking of a mentally ill person. I am a firm believer that all patients deserve the same respect. The patient was asking to go to the restroom. She left the room and went to the restroom right next to her room. Her nurse came by and seen that the patient was missing and looks at me and says: where is she? I pointed to the bathroom. The nurse grabbed her chest in relief as if she was thankful her patient didn't go missing. When the patient returned to her room she had an accident. The nurse then ask the patient in a harsh voice, why did you pee on yourself? I knew why she did. She had yelled I need to pee 5 minutes or more and no one helped her. After I sat there and heard her hole history I felt bad for the patient. When I say I heard her whole history I mean everything. I know her name, her diagnosis and everything. Do they treat everyone's information like that or just mentally I'll patients? I thought there was a thing called patient rights.

If I could give it zero stars I would. The triage nurse had a nasty attitude the minute I came in. She asked me how to describe the pain then listed all the different types (sharp, dull..etc) I couldn’t find the right description so I asked her to repeat them. She huffed as if I were wasting her time and came off annoyed. That was just the first red flag. I initially went into this ER with intense pain in my pelvic area. I couldn’t hold still or get a comfortable position no matter what I tried, therefore it was difficult for them to get the IV in my arm, understandably, however, as professionals I expected them to know how to handle a situation such as this but instead I ended up leaving with bruises and needle holes all over my left hand and both arms. A couple of times my IV came out due to me having to move so often from the pain and my boyfriend had to keep inserting it back into my arm because there were no staff around keeping an eye on it. My bf and I tried explaining to them that I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy 4 days prior and ive also had multiple cysts and pelvic pain history. Instead of listening to us, I was asked several times by the rudest nurse Ive ever had to deal with if I had take any street drugs that day, despite telling them no over and over, they continued to ask as if I were lying. (I work in health care and fully understand the importance of being 100% honest about what may be in your system) My boyfriend confirmed every time they asked as well as he had been with me the entire day but to no avail. I was treated like a drug addict instead of a person with dignity instead of focusing on the actual reason I went in there. They finally decided I needed a contrast taken so I was brought into a room with a man that looked as if he was getting very angry with me because I couldn’t hold still to get the IV with the contrast dye in my arm. You would think they’d know how to deal with situations such as this. my boyfriend being there was the only thing that made me feel comfortable until finally, a younger, brunette haired girl came in my room and she was a breath of fresh hair compared to the other staff. She was kind, understanding and consoling and also took the time to sit next to me and explain like I was an actual human being what was going on. I wish Id gotten her name to give her a great review because if it wasn’t for her I wouldve had zero hope for the staff at this place. I only went to this hospital because it was the nearest ER when my pain struck, however, I hope to never end up in a place with such incompetence again. It was the most uncomfortable I have ever been in a healthcare setting. No professionalism and no empathy for the patients. I’ve never dealt with this at Novant Health in Winston and hope to never have to again

By the way.....there was a secretary working one of the nights that I was there and she was amazing. She made sure that my loved one was being taken care of. What would have done without her? She was an angel. I wish I could remember her name.

I had never been to a hospital before when I found myself being taken to Randolph Hospital for several lower abdominal pain/syncope/vomiting. The level of care I received was wonderful. The nursing staff did everything they could to take care of me and I would specifically like to commend Amber the PA for her compassion and knowledge of my issue. If I ever have to go back I hope it's Amber that will be my provider. She was wonderful. Randolph took care of my issue and made sure I was comfortable. I would go back there again.
